Residents are invited to put their questions to Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens and Chief Constable Andy Marsh on Wednesday 19th September, 2018 in Bridgwater.
The PCC and Police Public Forum, being held at the YMCA, George Williams Centre in Bridgwater, will give local people the opportunity to have their say and ask questions about local policing.
The forum will begin with a welcome from the PCC and Chief Constable, before a presentation on policing in the area, by Chief Inspector Lisa Simpson. This will be followed by an open question and answer session with the PCC, Chief Constable and Chief Inspector.
Speaking ahead of the forum, Sue Mountstevens has said: “I very much look forward to these forums as it is a great opportunity to meet with local people in Bridgwater and surrounding areas, find out what they think about policing in their area and answer any questions that they might have for me. Residents report that they see these meetings as an opportunity to share their concerns and to help make the communities of Avon and Somerset safer and stronger.”
“I regularly visit many areas within Avon and Somerset and I am once again looking forward to the opportunity of hearing what residents have to say. I always welcome the chance to meet with local people and find out what they think about how their area is policed.”
Chief Constable Andy Marsh said: “I am keen to talk about the current policing landscape with residents of the Sedgemoor area. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to hear first-hand about the issues that local people are facing.
“As our force covers a large area with a diverse range of policing needs, I want to hear what local people think about the service we provide, what we do well and what we could do better, to ensure our communities are safer and feel safe.”
The forum will be held at YMCA, George Williams Centre, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3RF, and will take place between 6.45pm-9pm on Wednesday 19th September, 2018.
